Core Resources Partnership With Downer’s Mineral Technologies

Mineral Technologies and Core Resources Establish Non-Exclusive Strategic Partnership

Downer’s Mineral Technologies business and Core Resources today announced the formation of a non-exclusive global strategic partnership to provide end-to-end project solutions to precious and base metals customers.

Mineral Technologies is a world leader in fine mineral separation solutions including process engineering, plant design, separation equipment design and supply, and project delivery. Australian based Core Resources is a specialist metallurgical testwork, technology and process engineering company with extensive experience in precious and base metals.

Complete Solution for Precious and Base Metals Customers

Downer’s Executive General Manager, Engineering and Technology, Andrew Foster, said the strategic partnership brings together two industry leaders who have the capability to jointly deliver projects from testwork through to concept and feasibility stages, process engineering, construction and ongoing optimisation for precious and base metals customers globally.

‘With our mineral processing businesses Mineral Technologies and QCC, Downer has built an industry-leading project delivery capability for coal, industrial minerals and iron ore customers. Our new strategic partnership with Core Resources expands this capability into the precious and base metals sector as well as a broader range of industrial minerals where we are now able to provide smart end-to-end solutions for process opt1misation of existing operations as well as new projects,” he said.

Core Resources is a world leader in helping customers develop solutions that address difficult mineral processing challenges. As process innovators, Core has developed several innovative solutions including the Toowong Process which removes arsenic and antimony from base metals concentrates. Mineral Technologies and Core are currently collaborating on the commercialisation of the Toowong Process, assisted by Accelerating Commercialisation grant funding from the Commonwealth Government.

Core Resources Technical Director, Peter Rohner, said there are many customers looking for Core to deliver solutions beyond metallurgical testwork and process engineering.

“The strategic alliance with Mineral Technologies and Downer enables us to bring: customers industry leading expertise across the project lifecycle so that we can continue to work closely on projects during the construction and implementation phase through to full production  and optimisation,” added Mr Rohner.
