Ten year Qld METS action plan announced at Core Resources

State Development Minister Dr Anthony Lynham releases 10-year Mining Technology action plan at Core Resources.

On Wednesday 19th July, the Minister for State Development and Minister for Natural Resources and Mines The Honourable Dr Anthony Lynham visited Core’s facilities.

Dr Lynham announced a 10-year action plan to make the state’s existing $7 billion mining equipment, technology and services sector a world leader.

The roadmap outlines the Queensland Governments vision for the sector to become a global leader in the development of commercially valuable solutions for the energy and resources industry worldwide. The initiatives will:

  • make it easier for companies to turn their ideas into commercial products for market
  • increase collaboration between researchers, miners and METS companies so that they are all working on solutions to industry’s current pressing challenges
  • upgrade METS companies’ capability in innovation, business management, and marketing

Core is one of the many Queensland companies who contributed to the development of the action plan and looks forward to the opportunities the plan will bring.

Peter Rohner, Core’s Technical Director, said of the visit, “Core has invested heavily in developing and commercialising innovative process technologies, and we are honoured to host the Minister’s visit as he announces government support for this kind of work in the mining sector.”
